Q: How can I change my bookmark icon?

You can’t.

Q: Why, when I share a page that has a video, does it get only an image and not the video?

Videos can only be automatically pulled from a webpage that specifies a video in it’s meta data. YouTube, Vimeo, and some other websites have this data.

Q: Why can’t I choose a category from the “Pin Overlay” popup?

The “Pin Overlay” popup exists outside of your WordPress site so it does not have access to your categories. Use the “WP Pin” bookmark if you need to categorize your pin. You can also set the category at a later time by editing the pin in the dashboard HERE.

Q: Why do I get a 404 page when I try to access “www.mysite.com/pins”?

This is a characteristic of WordPress. If you would like all of your pins to be displayed on that url, you can create a standard WordPress Page called “Pins” and add this shortcode to the page:

Pin to Blog - Infotopia
.

Q: Why do some pins I create from a webpage not have a title and/or description?

Not all webpages are created equal. Although Infotopia has a robust page crawler to retrieve this information, some webpages have formatting that is too poor to read or simply does not provide this information. Have no fear though, you can edit or add a title and description to any pin you create.

Q: Why do I not have any image options to choose from when I share a webpage when there are clearly images on the page?

This can happen for a few reasons. Although Infotopia has a robust page crawler to retrieve this information, some webpages do not allow its images to be linked to or downloaded by another website. Also, some webpages display images within formatting that is too unique for our crawler to find. Have no fear though, you have a few options to add an image to the pin. You can select an image from the page in the “Pin Overlay” popup, you can add an image to the pin by pasting an image URL on the pin editor accessed by the “WP Pin” bookmark, and you can also choose an image from your WordPress media gallery.

Q: Why can’t I share a playable video that I uploaded to my website?

Currently we do not support video sharing of videos that you host on your server. We recommend that you upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo, then share its associated video page.

Q: Why is Pin to Blog so AWESOME?

Because we love you guys.
